The biggest challenges an artist’s face in the beginning is to connect with the inner creativity which is hidden inside them. It is said use your creativity at your fullest but as a beginner it is difficult to paint from all your heart.
The reason for this is because in the beginning you are jumbled with so many techniques you have learnt and the systems by which you will approach the painting; this drowns your inner imagination. Learning those techniques is very important as well but there has to be a stage where you should start drawing from your inner creativity.
When you have your subject, whether it may be a person or you are doing landscape study your subject well. If your interest tilts more in painting landscape then spend good amount of time in the area which inspires you first. Then you will have a clear idea to transfer your thoughts on a canvas.
Draw some rough sketches while you are taking the ride of the place. This will help you in painting the landscape on the canvas.
Painting the landscape using watercolor is sincerely a challenging job, specially if you actually are a starter. There are so many techniques in watercolor painting which requires the paper to be at specific angles, or even the paper will need to be saturated at certain degree.
Even if you take care you tend to miss some places and points or you might not remember what you wish to. So for this reason a camera is required at the event to capture every possible minute thing which you desire. You can take different shots at different angles and distances.
If you wish to do the painting on the location, choose compositions which are not over detailed.
Bring limited supplies to the location, because too many of supplies will create nuisance rather than the help. Remember that things can change very quickly in outdoors. Weather as well as light conditions change in just a matter of few minutes.
Painting should be done quickly. Complete the bigger areas and then go back again to the start.
